Recently I had to re-install the mythtv box for the living room as the drive died in it. So the install goes fine and everything works.... almost.... the resolution is stuck at 640x480 on that nice 37" flat panel. Oh yeah that old Geforce FX 5200 card for some odd reason can't get the EDID info from the panel. No problem lets stick the laptop on it and get the info to manually configure this stuff. So I do that and discover this little gem in the X log:

Lovely... Tell me your using a range, but why in gods name can't you tell me _what_ said range is? Lets spend some time telling me this:

So after some tap dancing around and googling I can't find this info anywhere... Lets generate it.

Monitor Range Limit:

Maximum Vertical Frequency : 75 Hz

Minimum Vertical Frequency : 50 Hz

Maximum Horizontal Frequency : 60 KHz

Minimum Horizontal Frequency : 31 KHz

Maximum Pixel Clock : 90 MHz

Now in the future, after google indexes this I should be able to find this without pulling my hair out.
